For this series, lacuna (plastic zone), I began collecting plastic that was destined for the landfill. I had previously read about the plastic islands in the sea, as well as the relationships between continuous small exposures to synthetic substances and human health.

I found myself preoccupied with saving all of the plastic from my consumption habits. I began tearing the pliant material and crafting the sheets, as one would a basket, into cocoons, structures for erythrocytes, breeding healthy cells within a repurposed plastic landscape. The constant reuse allays my guilt while the obsessive stitching allows me to think with my hands.
